Stayed there multiple times now. Great place.

I've been to Tamarindo 6-7 times in the last 12 years and always try to stay at Casa Pipilacha. It feels like home every time I'm there. I've enjoyed it with just my husband on an anniversary trip, with my kids on family vacations and with a larger group, we enjoyed Leo Loco, the house directly below Pipilacha. RPM is fantastic to work with and rapidly addresses any issue, though there have been very few over the years. This home is just wonderful and gives you the perfect feel for being in Costa Rica, while also having all of the amenities that you want. Coffee in the mornings with a good book and a pool/ocean view while my family sleeps in is my very favorite. Actually, the pool during sunset is my very favorite. Everything there is my favorite, to be honest. It's a wonderful home and has provided my family with some of our most amazing memories. Until next time, Pipilacha!!!

The sunsets were the highlight of our 3 week stay at Casa Pipilacha! This house has everything you will need to make your time in Tamarindo a memorable experience. It is up on the hill overlooking the bay and although we did walk to town once, I would highly recommend a vehicle. The kitchen was well stocked and the gardener, Miguel, made sure the pool and grounds were taken care of each day. The communication and check in/out was very easy. We could not have found a better house to work and enjoy some vacation while in Costa Rica!!!

We had four adults stay at Casa Papilacha 2/24-3/1/24 and can say our experience was wonderful. The house if fully equipped with everything we needed and it felt like home for the entire time we were there. I would recommend you rent a golf cart for the travels up and down the hill if you wish to go into Tamarindo often during your visit. The team at RPM (Lola/German) were wonderful and helped us out with a couple things during our stay. I wish we could have stayed longer.

To start off, I was met at the airport by RPM driver, he was very professional. Drove me to Casa Pipilacha, the property is amazing. Everything was in working order. Amazing air conditioning system. The sunsets were epic, you will not get tired of these amazing sunsets. Even experienced an amazing lightning storm (mother natures own fireworks display). Lola and German provided excellent service, all questions were answered, they also assisted me on arranging my tours. Overall it was an amazing experience.

This home was very elegant, modern, spacious, clean and private. I would definitely recommend.

The house is in impeccable condition and furnished with great taste and attention to detail. The view from the terrace and the infinity pool to the beach and the sea is unique. The sunsets were fantastic. Checkin and checkout worked without any problems. We would come here again at any time.

This property makes you feel like you have achieved life’s goal . It is complete paradise from the interior detail to the exterior pool and views . Very close to town and the road isn’t that bad . I rented a 4x4 and didn’t use it once

Staff was super friendly and very accommodating during our stay. When we had questions, they responded quickly. They also checked in throughout the week to make sure everything is good. Great experience

This house was spectacular! We loved every bit of it from the pool to the view and all the style and comfort. Peacefull and quiet with lots of birds and butterflies and amazing sunsets. It was so close to everything beach, casino, resturants and shopping. I would deffinately stay again. Great property.

We truly loved our stay at Casa Pipilacha. It’s a very nice house with a beautiful pool. We saw amazing sunsets from the pool. The house was clean and comfortable. We had difficulty with getting there initially because our Waze wouldn’t work. Also the security system was a bit tricky. Better instructions for arrival would be good. Otherwise it was perfect.

The only negative is that the Westin Hotel is directly below the Villa and their music played all day and into the evening

Wonderful villa with exquisite views and pool

My husband and I have rented through Tropical Vacations for several years, and the experience is always wonderful. The staff is always very professional and extremely helpful. This was our third stay at Casa Pipilacha and it never disappoints. Beautiful views, and an exceptional house.

Overall this was a great experience. There was some construction going on next-door which was not mentioned when we requested the rental. This would be nice to know for future renters. As mentioned by a prior guest the trees in front of the pool were also overgrown to some degree. I do believe that these are on the adjacent lot so I don’t think there’s much that can be done about this. All in all this is a great place a great vacation rental for our small family. We spent a lot of time outdoors and at the pool.

Pipilacha was everything we hoped for and more. Perfect experience at an excellent location!

We stayed at Casa Pipilacha May 10-15. Believe me, this house is even better in person than the photos! It is so beautiful, a great locations just a short drive to the beach, with a fantastic view, fabulous pool, perfectly clean, lots of room, generously stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, hairdryers, washer/dryer, and a safe for your belongings. Take your own shampoo, etc.

RPM provided excellent service and instructions. We used them for our transfer to/from the airport and for two excursions. Ronnie was our driver for one excursion and transport to airport. He was awesome! Lola in the RPM office was quick to answer all my questions. We sure hope to go back to Casa Pipilacha. This house made our vacation absolutely perfect!
We did the sunset catamaran tour and it was so much fun. We also did the Rincon de la Vieja tour and it was a blast.
Restaurants we enjoyed:
Pico Bistro - we went there 3 times for breakfast and lunch
Green Papaya Taco Bar - great for lunch or dinner
Las Pangas -most upscale of these restaurants
Eat at Joes - great breakfast last morning
I would go back to any of these again!

The website is exactly like the visit. This stunning home was absolutely gorgeous and well cared for with the most awesome view! Our family enjoyed 8 nights here and would return hands down. Spotless and well decorated.

Lovely house with attention to detail everywhere you look. The house looks even better than in the pictures...well manicured grounds, comfortable rooms and beds, fully stocked kitchen and very easy to get to from center of tamarindo. Although the house is close to its neighbors - you would never tell because of it’s beautiful gardens, perfectly placed for 100% seclusion. Would definitely rent again.

We were very pleased with the beauty of the home and its location was ideal-quiet and away from the town but only a short drive to all the restaurants. The house was very comfortable and had beautiful views of the ocean. Everything was first class and kitchen offered everything we needed/wanted. The infinity pool was perfect to swim laps or enjoy. The property was well maintained and flowers and outside pots were lovely. The staff kept everything perfectly clean including the pool, We had a family of Howlers pass directly in front of the pool through the trees, had squirrels enjoying the tree nuts and even had a few iguanas sunning themselves on the rocks. We loved it.

Too many times online pictures don't add up to reality (due to perfect timing, wide angle lenses, etc.) In this case the reality was far better than pictures! The pool was huge and the views were spectacular! The house has all the amenities and finishes are amazing (including stone ceilings that warranted pictures in every room for future dreams of home improvement). We wanted a relaxed and private retreat and Casa Pipilacha met our every need. Town was a 10 minute walk although it was also easy to drive to the bottom of the hill and park. I give it 5+ stars and would definitely go back!

Had a wonderful time at Casa Pipilacha. The house is beautiful and the view is spectacular and relaxing. The poll was our favourite part and relaxing in it while overlooking the . we had 2 adults and 2 kids. the only problem was we were a little confused on the number of beds and out son and daughter did not want to sleep together but they do have 2 fold out cots which are actually very comfortable.

This was our second stay at Casa Pipilacha, and again, it was absolutely perfect. Beautiful property with amazing views. Very clean and has every amenity you could possibly need. Great service from RPM. This is the best property we have ever stayed in.

The home was built by a renowned Costa Rican architect and it shows. Almost all windows overlook the sea. Detailed stonework throughout. Tiny details that delight wherever you turn.

Do you love plants? I do. This villa has private gardens that are lovingly tended to each day by a kind man named Miguel. (He comes very early and is unobtrusive, but we were up early too and shared coffee a few times.)

This is perfect house for two couples, since the bedrooms on opposite sides of the house. But we came as a family and it was perfect for us too.

During a long, dark winter, we would often dream about this place. It did not disappoint. It delighted us in an almost unimaginable way.

RPM was so very accommodating and I can’t recommend their services highly enough.

Still considering? Don’t. This is the place.

What a home and oh what a view! The home exceeded our expectations in every way. The yard/pool and cleaning staff were all very nice and accommodating. We spent 90+ % of our time on the large patio soaking in the views and amazing sunsets. We highly recommend this to everyone. Less than 5 minute drive to town and we saw many neighbors walk to and from town which is probably a 15 minute walk from the house. It was our 1st time to Costa Rica and we will be back. Friendly and so clean everywhere we went. Very few walking venders on the beach was a nice change from our Mexico trips too.

Beautiful home, private, great views, amazing pool.

Memories from our stay at Casa Pipilacha (Dragonfly House) have been put in our wedding book to remember and cherish forever. The photos of the house online do not do it justice - the house is so beautiful inside and out. The location is perfect to visit the areas north, south and east. The view of the Pacific is awesome! Sunsets there are a treat. Tamarindo is just a mile away down the hill with lots of shopping, eating and even a new super nice grocery store. A day at the beach is just a mile or 20 miles away to explore. The western coast has at minimum, 30 beaches just waiting for you!

We love Pipilacha! A beautiful view does not describe this sunset experience with every detail of this house attended to. It is mixed with every amenity needed, comfort, craftsmanship not found often, small fun details like the rosettes folded on each toilet paper roll, full privacy and responsive staff. The amazing cleaning staff person noticed our A/C was not functioning properly in one room and had a repair scheduled and A/C functioning fully within 2 hours. Amazing assistance from the RPM office staff with any excursions we wanted to do and perfect suggestions on fully experiencing Tamarindo. Will definitely stay at Pipilacha again and highly recommend Tropical Vacations for any property they manage.

Most amazing private pool and view of all the places I've stayed. Great for a family of 4. truly paradise.
I will note that the Casa Leo Loco directly below if big group booked...you won't see them...but will hear everything! We were lucky and only last night there a crew stay and party until 8am...would love to have joined them in my kidless days but I am blessed with two small party ruiners 🙂 Just ask ppty mgmt if booked for big group while you plan stay as they manage both. Or have your own party louder:)
If I had one improvement suggestion to owners is to coat the pool patio with a clear anti-slip coating as it is crazy how slippery it gets. Hard to keep kids (and me) from wiping out. We coated it in towels the whole time though which are generously provided.
These things should really not reflect on how truly incredible this spot is, perfectly located close to town but away from it. Hopefully we can stay again one day.

Our first time in Costa Rica and renting this incredible house made our vacation, relaxing, comfortable and we didn't want to leave! The house has everything you need to live lavishly and comfortably, including a beautiful view! We loved it and will for sure return!

The house was beautiful. We have a 15 month old and everything was just perfect. From the comfort to the sheer luxury of the home. It is a tricky hill to get up, lots of pot holes, but actually on our second to last day they came through with a steam roller and laid some new dirt which helped tremendously. Other than that, 10 out of 10.

This vacation rental far exceeded my family's expectations!

We loved the house! Very well furnished with the best view for two couples. Will be back! The town is full of surf, bars, and restaurants.

Beautiful home with a magnificent view. Home has great craftsmanship and decor, very detailed and custom. Quality amenities, from kitchen to bedrooms to patio. Great floor plan, easily accommodating two separate couples and ensuring privacy. Just an outstanding property! Be aware gardener/pool service (Miguel) and cleaning (Ethel) do come early in morning, yet are quiet and non intrusive. Also, homes above and below are large and have potential to produce significant noise. Overall, probably the BEST smaller residence in Tamarindo. Can't wait to return, true Pura Vida.

The house is beautiful and the pool and view are amazing! We enjoyed it so very very much! We spent several days just up at the house making the most of our time there. Definitely worth the price and I would stay there again. Only negative was we wanted to Barbeque and on day one the tank ran out and a full week stay and no refill ever materialized though we requested one right away and even followed up a few days later with management. It never arrived. We had all kinds of groceries purchased too. Using the inside cooktop was ok but not ideal as there is no venting and the house would fill with smoke at high temps. Otherwise it was perfect.

My family and I (myself, my husband, 2 adult children and my son's girlfriend) just spent an unforgettable week at Casa Pipilacha from 7/26 to 8/1. The house and property were absolutely gorgeous and immaculately maintained. The pictures on the website were very accurate although the house is much more stunning in person. My husband, who is a contractor himself, was thoroughly impressed at the design and details of the house. We were very comfortable staying there with the kids who rotated sleeping on the cot in the smaller bedroom. It's also perfect for 2 couples each having their own bedroom and bathroom. The pool was a dream to come home to with the stunning view - we truly didn't feel the need to leave the house although we did do many activities that CR has to offer. We enjoyed mornings and nights in the pool or on the lounges just enjoying the view of Tamarindo below us - the same view can be enjoyed from most of the house especially the master bedroom and master bath suite. The kitchen was a delight for our chefs who prepared daily meals for us and the occasional lunch we prepared for ourselves. All of the staff at RPM were wonderful to work with. Would not hesitate to stay at this property again as everyone fell in love with it - Pura Vida!!! One note: the hill up to the house is very steep - we did walk down on many occasions and only once up and back to the house - my advice, make friends with a cabbie - get their cell number, tip them good so that whenever you call they will come. The walk up is very tough - we will never attempt that again.

Words can not describe how incredibly beautiful this location is. My family and I stayed for 9 days and 8 nights and we did not want to leave. The views are spectacular no matter where you are in the house. It was bliss to sit outside and drink coffee or watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Ethel and Miguel who keep up cads Pipalachia are awesome. We are coming back next year and are getting ready to reserve the house. My son left to college right after we came back and this place and trip will forever be special to him.

Pipilacha is located on a hill with the best views in the area. It is safe and lovely. Please note there is a lot of construction being done nearby though and it begins early (6 AM) and continues through the early evening. The house itself though is beautiful, fantastic views and comes well stocked with everything you could possibly need for your stay. We would stay here again and highly recommend to anyone

We were sooo happy to see such a fabulous home!!! Every detail was upscale and way more than we expected!!! The road getting there was a bit bumpy but we understand that's how it is there.
The pool was wonderful!!!

This property met all our expectations, and the company was responsive to our concerns which were few. Great location with great views, infinity pool. The level of finish, the furnishings, kitchen, etc were high quality, with every expectation of our own home. The home was air conditioned, necessary mainly in the bedrooms. A vehicle is not a must, but very helpful as the access road is steep.

Was a perfect location for our family of four in a great location overlooking Tamarindo and the Pacific. Amenities were very nice, pool was great size.

Couple small issues included - sound system did not work and called them and no one fixed the problem. Front door was out of order so we had to enter in the side door.

The house is very nicely done but getting to it is quite a challenge (specially on foot and in 30°C heat and for 60+ old people). At the arrival we couldn't open the door (wrong keys were given to us) and then we were told that the front door doesn't lock at all... We were expecting quiet time on the top of the hill...but the neighbors were playing laud music and having laud parties (almost impossible to enjoy the beautiful patio with the view)

We had the pleasure of staying at Casa Pipilacha for a full week in November. The house is absolutely stunning! The attention to detail in every part of the property is amazing. We were part of a group that rented several houses in the area and everyone agreed that Casa Pipilacha was the most beautiful property of them all. The size of the space would be perfect for a small family or two couples. The two of us found the space to be perfect for just us as well. We will most certainly be back!

Casa Pipilacha is everything you could hope for and more! The perfect luxury retreat hidden high above the ocean. Make sure you have a 4x4 vehicle, as the road to the house is a little tricky... Once you arrive, however,you will be in paradise! You will not want to leave, even to go to the beach!

Everything was perfect! The house was in perfect order, everything you need is there and in the usual place, no hunting for items and it was spotless. Pickup pkg. was quick and professional! Communication was superb from RPM regardless of who I talked with. They all knew what was going on with the property. Had a minor issue (my fault - I locked myself out of the master bedroom) called RPM and they had Security up to Pipilacha in no time to help me out! Superb Property Management and incredible property! I will be back!

The only thing I would suggest is a map with directions on how to get there from the RPM office or main road. Also, make sure you have an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicle! Most of the road up to the property is steep and not paved and if wet, It can be slippery!

Casa Pipilacha is THE perfect place! A very private back porch and pool. Amazing views. Beautiful home. EVERYTHING you need for a great escape! Etal the cleaning lady is wonderful,unobtrusive and does a great job. RPM the rental agency is excellent, quick to solve any problem, accomodate any need and very professional.I hesitate to share this due to availability. Been going there every year for 6 yrs and we love it!

Casa Pipilacha is perfect for two couples. It's comfortable and has great views. Although it was hot, the air conditioning kept the bedrooms (and living area) cool. We really enjoyed the terrace and the pool where we spent most of our time. Although there was no Wi-Fi, the management company hopes to resolve that issue. We're very familiar with Tamarindo, having rented a villa down the hill from Casa Pipilacha. Getting up and down the hill (in a 4X4) is challenging. We never attempted walking!!
