Great Villa with Incredible Support from Host & Property Manager
We had a fantastic stay here! The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed—including a beautiful pool to enjoy. Beach access is right across the street, and Tamarindo is close by. It’s walkable, but we found a golf cart to be the perfect way to get around.
The neighborhood felt very safe and peaceful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The property manager, RPM, was incredible—like having a personal concierge throughout our trip. The owner was just as helpful, offering great suggestions and answering all our questions both before and during the stay. His support felt like having a personal travel planner. We truly appreciated the care and attention that made our vacation so relaxing and memorable. Highly recommend!
Great Place and Location
We stayed here for the first time last September, and we had such a good time and great trip that we immediately planned our return.
It was a nice surprise to find the master bedroom had been upgraded to a king sized bed along with a few other things, and this time we made sure to get some fresh mahi-mahi to cook on the grill. We also did La Leona Waterfall which was a ton of fun.
What we love about this place is the combination of the Tamarindo/Langosta areas, the beach, and how quiet and private the place itself is. Having a private pool that doesn't close is also great (trust me on this, you want access to a pool in the tropics). All this makes for a great family vacation.
I also want to compliment the staff who were so friendly and professional - good people make all the difference. Lola was especially great as she helped us plan our activities (no easy task I assure you).

Awesome place
We had a wonderful trip and the accommodations were amazing! They thought of everything… The kitchen was stocked. The beds were comfortable down, comforters on the beds to make it more comfortable great location swimming pool is amazing. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.

Wonderful stay.
Exactly as seen on pictures. Spotless when we arrived. Very easy communication with management. They answered quickly and ensured we had everything we needed. They arranged a shuttle from and to the airport so we could avoid renting a car and had a crib ready for us when we arrived.
Right in front of 2 great beach access and very close to a lot of other beach access. 5 min from downtown Tamarindo by kart.
All the staff was very friendly as well and someone came to clean the pool and someone else for house cleaning in the middle of our week stay.
The pool was great and they had AC units in each bedroom as well as in the kitchen/living room areas so it was fresh throughout the entire villa.
Very satisfied. Would definitely book with them again.
Perfect Second Visit
My family stayed in this beautiful home for a second time in December. The kitchen is just the right size and the backyard pool is available at all hours. I generally eat breakfast next to the pool to enjoy monkeys, parrots, iguanas, etc. When we don’t want to cook, there are so many great places to eat from the Indian restaurant next door to the Italian place down the street. There is even a little grocery store around the corner. During the day, we like to walk down the street to swim and float in the estuary and to walk across the street to meet and make friends during sunset - what a gorgeous, unobstructed view!
Lovely location and cool house
Lovely location - you just can't beat it.
The house is literally across the street from the beach and *the* sunset watching spot everyone gathers to for a sort of communal experience / Costa Rica Tradition.
It is a short walk to the local hangouts (the Surf Grill was excellent and sort of a gastro pub / sports bar with a ton of space and games. Fish and Cheeses was also excellent).
The house was also about a mile walk to Tamarindo, and the walk was pleasant (they have street lights and sidewalks). One of the things we liked about the walk was we often saw the monkeys on the way. Also birds and flowers. (Bring a water bottle though - I do confess we cab'd it a couple of times on the way home for about $4 US). This spot gave us Tamarindo and its energy and amenities when we wanted that. It also gave us a relaxed uncrowded space and pace the rest of the time in a friendly spot where people get to know you - something I personally appreciated as sometimes people can get overwhelming. Also it is what I really think of as a vacation. Super nice to have both options.
The house is smartly designed, fully walled for privacy, and just lovely. There were things like beach chairs for us to use and a full kitchen. The internet was fast, and the TV's were smart. For me though, the star of the show was the pool, which I can not say enough nice words about the pool after a day of tropical heat.
We had the we had the monkeys come to visit us 3 different times at the house as well - and some green parrots. Really cool.
Also want to say the staff was great, and are located right down the street by the food store if you want to talk in person about which tours or restaurants are good (I'm old school, I like face to face).
We really, really love this place, and we will be back!
Perfection
We’ve been traveling all over Costa Tica for the last 8 months and this was our favorite stay! It’s truly a private oasis 1 minute to one of the most beautiful beaches in all of CR. The management was very responsive, but we barely had to call on them as everything was wonderful. I can’t think of one negative thing. If you want a quiet, peaceful place to stay within walking distance of the bustling little town of Tamarindo, this is your place. Book it!

We really enjoyed our stay at Cerca del Mar. The location could not be better, close to the beach, and the property management company was very helpful and accomodating.
